Winston‑Salem’s Hottest Chicken Is Just a Click Away

I discovered this place by accident, and I am super glad I did. This small joint is tucked right before Small Batch bar in downtown Winston-Salem. Their menu is pretty small, consisting only of chicken sandwiches and the lone fish sandwich, but let me tell you, there is nothing else you need. I was tempted to get ... the chicken and waffles, which I will surely get next time, but I opted for the fish sandwich. It is summertime, and I love seafood in the summer, and it was a home run. The batter was crispy and flavorful, so I could still taste the cod underneath all those gorgeous seasonings. I got the mild seasoning, which had a great flavor and a good spice level. The slaw also played a significant role in the sandwich too, providing some needed lightness and vegetable crunch in the crispy fish sandwich. The fries that I got with my sandwich were bomb as well, they were just crinkle fries, but that had a great seasoning on them, and the “Come back Sauce” (made with horseradish) was oh so tasty and provided a great flavor to the fries, and I ended up dipping some of my cod in it. The sauce made me think of Outback Steakhouse’s blooming onion sauce, but that is a good thing! My Girlfriend got the chicken sandwich (The Timothy) with mac and cheese. This mac and cheese was delicious, nice and creamy, and cheesy. However, the pasta was wayyyyy overdone, but that's understandable in this dish and a very common theme in restaurant mac & cheese. One thing I noticed about this restaurant is that they had a hot wing challenge. If you consume the spiciest wings on the menu within a specific time frame, you get to personalize a plate, and they will stick it on the wall to commemorate the pain and heat that you endured. Awesome food!! Just a warning tho - Medium is hotter than regular Buffalo hot you get from most places. I like hot but WOW🥵 We tried the wings and thighs, fries and collards. Fries were hot crispy and well seasoned. Now I’m a collard snob…these were exceptionally good, but as expected, hot! Hubs loved it and It was ... satisfying to watch him devour those wings like an absolute savage. It was that good. On top in that, the entire staff was hustling the whole time, great sense of humor and hospitality, and excellent service. Even the guy bussing tables was really sweet and engaging, and very quick on his feet to keep everything tidy. Had Nashville Hot chicken and waffles which were great. A pineapple jalapeño margarita, and vinegar greens, boy did they pack a punch.

Not to lie on this one, this is my favorite CHICKEN places ten toes down. Perhaps, it is the people, the way the lady smiles at me there, or DAMN CHICKEN! I DONT KNOW! What I do know is I love this place. Stop waiting, get your food. You deserve it =)

Spent the weekend in town for Wrestlecade 2023 and tried multiple local restaurants. Timmy's Hot Chicken was a fantastic spot to stop for a meal. The ladies working was extremely friendly, answering all of me and my buddies questions about their interesting restaurant. The interior is quirky and unique with old school ... tunes playing. We both got The Timothy sandwich, tenders with medium heat. We also got a plate of cod in medium to split. The chicken sandwich was huge and delicious! All the ingredients meshed so well with the fantastic chicken. My mouth waters just thinking about it! The cod was also fantastic and was flaking apart and had more spicy kick than the chicken.
